Dennis G. Charles, Esquire graduated with honors from Muhlenberg College, in Allentown, Pennsylvania in 1976, and from Temple University School of Law, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1979. He has maintained a private law practice with his brother, Fredick E. Charles, Esquire, at 441 Linden Street, in Allentown, Pennsylvania since October 1979, and has litigated diverse civil cases in state and federal court involving products liability, including crashworthiness cases involving major automobile manufacturers and foreign corporations; medical malpractice; pharmaceutical negligence; motor vehicle accidents; personal injury; slip and falls; child custody, divorce and support. Since 1984, Attorney Charles has served as a licensed real estate broker and title insurance agent in Pennsylvania. From 1980 through 1986, Attorney Charles served as a part-time member of the Lehigh County Solicitor's Office, handling various types of civil litigation on behalf of Lehigh County. In December 1986, Attorney Charles became a part-time member of the Lehigh County Public Defender's Office, and has defended a wide variety of high profile major felony and misdemeanor cases, including murder, rape, arson, robbery, burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, aggravated assault, sexual offenses, drug cases, terroristic threats, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substance (DUI) and conspiracy. Since 1989, Attorney Charles has defended in excess of 10,000 mentally ill defendants and patients at involuntary commitment proceedings in Pennsylvania, and has recorded 2 of only 3 legal insanity acquittals in the history of Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. He has appeared on the nationally syndicated Arts and Entertainment (A & E) Network television show "American Justice" with Bill Curtis, "AM Philadelphia" opposite Nancy Grace, and has been the subject of a front page feature article in the Philadelphia Inquirer dealing with the defense of legal insanity in Pennsylvania. In addition to his civil and criminal law experience, Attorney Charles is a FAA licensed pilot and aircraft owner who is trained and knowledgeable in aviation law.
